PROJECT TITLE

Powerhouse Museum

(2021)

RATIONALE

The Powerhouse Museum is a contemporary museum in the heart of Sydney with a focus on arts, science, innovation and design. Housing 500,000+ objects, all with connection to communities, people, and histories, the museum is a rich library of storytelling. In a time of renewal and digitisation of the objects, the Powerhouse was in need of a new approach to its representation online. I was brought in to formulate strategy and design content across the Powerhouse social channels, building upon the brand identity with an editorial approach. This work was in collaboration with the communication team, the digital studio and artistic associate Zan Wimberley.

CATEGORY

I’m a multi-disciplinary designer, specialising in creative direction, publications and brand identity based on Gadigal land, Sydney, Australia. With six years of experience in the industry, servicing organisations in the arts, culture and music industries, my work spans print and digital with an editorial approach. I collaborate with clients, institutions and fellow creatives to make thoughtful work that is grounded in conceptual objectives.

I’ve dedicated the past three years to building an independent brand and publication, Soft Stir, a platform for talented emerging creatives to explore art, culture, music and philosophies through the lens of their practice. In my role as creative director, I lead the vision of the project, while performing duties in print design, editorial, production, event curation and more.

All my work is informed by ongoing design research, an interest in new independent type design and an ever-evolving book collection.

Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to collaborate.

I acknowledge the Gadigal people, the traditional custodians of the unceded lands on which I work and live. I acknowledge their continuous connection to Country, water and skies, celebrating their rich and enduring knowledge, stories and creativity. I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
