PROJECT TITLE

Roadwerk Festival

(2020)

RATIONALE

Roadwerk, is a Heaps Gay summer festival set amongst the industrial streets of Marrickville and Newcastle. With a mix of international headliners, emerging local acts and performance art, Roadwerk was a diverse, vibrant, high-energy event with a visual campaign to match. Drawing inspiration from 00’s race car graphics, the designs meanwhile reflected the bright intensity of a scorching summer’s day and the urban context of the festival. Roadwerk’s identity werked up a sweat to catch eyes and set the tone for what was a unique and innovative event.

CATEGORY

I’m a multi-disciplinary designer, specialising in creative direction, publications and brand identity based on Gadigal land, Sydney, Australia. With six years of experience in the industry, servicing organisations in the arts, culture and music industries, my work spans print and digital with an editorial approach. I collaborate with clients, institutions and fellow creatives to make thoughtful work that is grounded in conceptual objectives.

I’ve dedicated the past three years to building an independent brand and publication, Soft Stir, a platform for talented emerging creatives to explore art, culture, music and philosophies through the lens of their practice. In my role as creative director, I lead the vision of the project, while performing duties in print design, editorial, production, event curation and more.

All my work is informed by ongoing design research, an interest in new independent type design and an ever-evolving book collection.

Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to collaborate.

I acknowledge the Gadigal people, the traditional custodians of the unceded lands on which I work and live. I acknowledge their continuous connection to Country, water and skies, celebrating their rich and enduring knowledge, stories and creativity. I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
