PROJECT TITLE

Soft Stir Issue 02

(2022)

RATIONALE

The second issue of Soft Stir takes a decidedly experimental evolution, expanding upon the legacy of the identity with a stripped-back colour palette and individualised approach to each piece’s title page and layout. Utilising meaningful typographic choices to underpin the contents of the works within, this issue’s design was thoroughly considered and refined, bringing together the overall narrative of healing – recurring themes of water, religious symbols, flames and rising from the ashes – into a cohesive body of work.

CATEGORY

I’m a multi-disciplinary designer, specialising in creative direction, publications and brand identity based on Gadigal land, Sydney, Australia. With six years of experience in the industry, servicing organisations in the arts, culture and music industries, my work spans print and digital with an editorial approach. I collaborate with clients, institutions and fellow creatives to make thoughtful work that is grounded in conceptual objectives.

I’ve dedicated the past three years to building an independent brand and publication, Soft Stir, a platform for talented emerging creatives to explore art, culture, music and philosophies through the lens of their practice. In my role as creative director, I lead the vision of the project, while performing duties in print design, editorial, production, event curation and more.

All my work is informed by ongoing design research, an interest in new independent type design and an ever-evolving book collection.

Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to collaborate.

I acknowledge the Gadigal people, the traditional custodians of the unceded lands on which I work and live. I acknowledge their continuous connection to Country, water and skies, celebrating their rich and enduring knowledge, stories and creativity. I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
